During the course of his BMus degree, Gordon developed a special interest in piano accompanying, and performed the following works among others:
Beethoven, Piano Trio in B flat op. 97 Archduke
Brahms, Horn Trio in E flat op. 40
Brahms, Clarinet Trio in a minor, op. 114
Finzi, Let us Garlands Bring
Vaughan Williams, Serenade to Music
Vivaldi, The Four Seasons (harpsichord continuo)
Gordon also developed his skills in jazz piano, working with the University of Aberdeen Big Band as both pianist and conductor, and on harpsichord continuo with the Baroque Ensemble, featuring in performances of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and The Fairy Queen.
Gordon remains active as an accompanist, both with the University of Aberdeen Choral Society and on a freelance basis accompanying musicians in grade exams and recitals.
